Privacy policy

What data this site collects, why, and how to say no. Last reviewed August 2026.

Who we are

Weekend Prague is a travel guide published at weekendprague.com. If you have a question about this policy or about data we hold, contact us through the site.

What we collect

  • Analytics data via Google Analytics 4 — pages viewed, approximate location at city level, device type, and how you arrived. IP addresses are anonymised.
  • Affiliate click events — when an outbound partner link is clicked, we record which link and which page, not who you are.
  • Consent preferences — your cookie choices, stored so we do not ask again.

We do not run a newsletter, we do not have user accounts, and we do not ask you for personal information. There is no form on this site that collects your name or email.

Consent

Analytics cookies are denied by default and are only set if you agree through the cookie banner. This is implemented with Google Consent Mode v2, which means the tags load in a restricted state and do not store anything until consent is given. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie settings link.

Third parties

ServicePurposeData
Google Analytics 4Understanding which pages are usefulAnonymised usage data, after consent
GetYourGuideAffiliate partner for tours and ticketsReceives a referral identifier when you click through
CloudflareServing the site and protecting it from abuseStandard request logs

When you click an affiliate link you leave this site, and the partner’s own privacy policy applies from that point.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR you can request access to any personal data we hold, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing, and complain to your data protection authority. Given that we hold no accounts and collect no contact details, in practice there is usually nothing personal to retrieve — but the right stands and we will act on any request.

Retention

Analytics data is retained for the period configured in Google Analytics and is not combined with anything that identifies you. Consent preferences are stored in your own browser and you can clear them by clearing site data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the revised date at the top of this page will change. See also the cookie policy and the affiliate disclosure.
